DURING AGCO FACILITY TOUR, ESTES CALLS FOR USMCA VOTE

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) and AGCO Corporation hosted Congressman Ron Estes on November 5. I Make America, AEM’s national grassroots campaign, works throughout the year to host elected officials and other policymakers at member companies’ facilities across the United States.

After meeting with AGCO senior leadership, Rep. Estes toured the 1.3 million square foot, central Kansas facility. The Congressman learned about AGCO’s Balers, Windrowers and Combines experiencing the manufacturing processes from fabrication, paint, to final assembly.

“We appreciate Rep. Estes touring the facility here in Hesston and his support of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement,” says Bill Hurley, Vice President, Aftersales, Customer Support & Distribution Development, AGCO North America. “With his farm background and manufacturing industry experience, Rep. Estes knows all too well the importance of the farm equipment manufacturing industry to the viability of small agricultural communities and the economy of states like Kansas. This is important legislation that encourages free and fair trade to help the U.S. manufacturing sector and, in turn, communities such as Hesston.”

Once the tour concluded, the Congressman participated in a forum with an auditorium full of AGCO employees. Rep. Estes spoke to more than 100 employees about his priorities in Congress. Estes highlighted his support for the United States-Canada-Mexico Agreement (USMCA), a trade deal that will be a huge victory for equipment manufacturers, farmers, and hardworking families across the United States.

Estes“Agriculture and manufacturing are both vital industries to the Kansas economy,” said Rep. Estes. “I was pleased to join employees and leaders of AGCO today for a tour of their Hesston facility and town hall meeting to learn about the work they do in our region, as well as discuss the need for the USMCA. I applaud AEM and their I Make America campaign for their ongoing efforts supporting passage of this trade deal, and I thank them and AGCO for today’s visit.”

Additionally, Bob Crain, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Americas, AGCO North America, was featured in the Kansas City Star this morning with an opinion piece supporting USMCA ratification.
