Association of Equipment Manufacturers Commends the Federal Government's Productivity Mega Deduction
OTTAWA, ON – In response to Prime Minister Mark Carney’s announcement of the productivity super deduction, AEM Senior Vice President of Government and Industry Relations Kip Eideberg released the following statement:
“AEM applauds the federal government’s introduction of the new Productivity Mega Deduction, a necessary measure towards making Canada a more competitive place to invest, build, and grow. By helping businesses write off investments in productivity-enhancing equipment and technology more quickly, the government is giving manufacturers a stronger incentive to put capital to work in Canadian facilities.
"For equipment manufacturers, the measure can support investment across the value chain, from modernizing production lines to helping customers adopt the advanced equipment they need to operate more efficiently. It will help businesses respond to trade uncertainty, improve productivity, and support skilled jobs in communities across Canada.
