American Soybean Association and United Soybean Board

Visit Booth #21 and learn about the sustainability of U.S. Soy with the American Soybean Association and United Soybean Board!

Biobased soy product success stories are a fun read – and run the gamut! Visit ASA and USB in Booth #21 at Ag on the Mall to talk with U.S. soybean growers about the reliable, sustainable soy products that are being produced and used by individuals, governments, universities, NGOs and companies ranging from Goodyear to Sketchers.

Environmentally-friendly products and uses include the following, to name just a few!

  • NASA’s lawn
  • Goodyear tires
  • Graffiti remover for historic spots
  • Door mats throughout the Pentagon
  • Bug repellant
  • Bike paths
  • Ford seat cushions and headrests
  • Cosmetic lines
  • Flip flops and other shoes

The soy checkoff partners with manufacturers to commercialize new soy-based products, giving farmers and others even more opportunities to buy products that contain U.S. soy. USB’s Soy Products Guide contains 1,000+ soy-based products currently on the market – from flooring and roofing products to candles and personal care items. Checkoff-supported research has demonstrated that soy works as a cost-competitive replacement for petrochemicals in manufacturing. This expedites commercialization of soy-based products.

USB’s 78 farmer-directors work on behalf of all U.S. soybean farmers to achieve maximum value for their soy checkoff investments. These volunteers invest and leverage checkoff funds in programs and partnerships to drive soybean innovation beyond the bushel and increase preference for U.S. soy. That preference is based on U.S. soybean meal and oil quality, along with the sustainability practices of U.S. soybean farmers. As stipulated in the federal Soybean Promotion, Research and Consumer Information Act, the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) has oversight responsibilities for USB and the soy checkoff.

ASA represents U.S. soybean farmers on domestic and international policy issues important to the soybean industry. ASA has 26 affiliated state associations representing 30 soybean-producing states and more than 500,000 soybean farmers. More information can be found at soygrowers.com.
