Senior Vice President of Technology Content and Revenue Creation
Senior Vice President of Technology Content and Revenue Creation Al Cervero joined Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) predecessor CIMA (the Construction Industry Manufacturers Association) in 1995 as Director of Marketing and Membership Services, becoming Vice President of Construction, Mining and Utility in 1996 and Senior Vice President in 2001, taking on his current role in 2020. Prior to joining AEM, Cervero worked in the construction equipment industry for twenty years in various leadership roles for companies including Harnischfeger P&H, and Astec, including leading a management buyout of P&H’s construction division from Harnischfeger in 1988.
As Senior Vice President of Technology Content and Revenue Creation, Cervero directs AEM’s Futures Council that oversees thought leadership for AEM, industry adoption of technology, oversees education and related content, as well as business and revenue development for the association.
Cervero currently belongs to the Peter Diamantes’ innovation group “Abundance 360” and serves as a member of the Boards of the Common Ground Alliance (commonly known as Dial 811, before you dig). He previously served as a member of the boards of Wisconsin World Trade Center, International Road Federation Education Foundation, AED Foundation (of the Associated Equipment Distributors) and American Council for Construction Education (ACCE).
Cervero lives in Elm Grove, Wis., and was a Wisconsin state judo champion multiple times, becoming a runner-up for Olympic tryouts at the age of 16.
