AEM Expresses Need to Hear Specifics from Presidential Candidate
(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Association of Equipment Manufacturers Senior Vice President of Government & Industry Relations Kip Eideberg issued the following statement ahead of the Sept. 10 presidential debate.
“With zero discussion about the policies needed to advance the U.S. equipment manufacturing industry during the first presidential debate, it is imperative that both candidates articulate how they plan to support the 2.3 million men and women who make the equipment that builds, powers, and feeds our country. Specifically, equipment manufacturers want to hear how former President Trump and Vice President Harris will advance pro-manufacturing tax policies, strengthen rural America, ease regulatory burdens, negotiate new trade agreements, and solve the immigration crisis. Tuesday’s debate is an opportunity for both candidates to make their case for why equipment manufacturers should cast their votes for them this election. We urge them to seize the opportunity.”
AEM is the North America-based international trade group representing off-road equipment manufacturers and suppliers with more than 1,000 companies and more than 200 product lines in the agriculture and construction-related industry sectors worldwide. The equipment manufacturing industry in the United States supports 2.3 million jobs and contributes roughly $316 billion to the economy every year.
