AEM Applauds Release of Bipartisan Surface Transportation Reauthorization Bill

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) Senior Vice President of Government and Industry Relations Kip Eideberg issued the following statement on the release of the BUILD America 250 Act:

"We commend Chairman Graves and Ranking Member Larsen for their bipartisan leadership in advancing a surface transportation reauthorization that meets the moment. The BUILD America 250 Act delivers the kind of high-impact investment in America’s well-established surface transportation programs that equipment manufacturers have been calling for – one that will modernize our nation’s infrastructure, strengthen supply chains, and drive sustained economic growth. By prioritizing highways, bridges, and other critical assets, this legislation will create jobs, make communities safer, and strengthen local economies.

"Importantly, the bill reflects a strong commitment to American manufacturing. Its investments in digital construction technologies, workforce development initiatives, and meaningful permitting reform will help ensure projects are delivered faster, more efficiently, and with greater certainty. These are the exact tools manufacturers need to innovate, hire, and invest with confidence.

"AEM looks forward to working closely with the committee and Congress to secure swift passage of this legislation and deliver the infrastructure investment our industry – and our country – depends on."
