AEM APPLAUDS NOMINATION OF CONGRESSWOMAN LORI CHAVEZ-DEREMER FOR SECRETARY OF LABOR

AEM APPLAUDS NOMINATION OF CONGRESSWOMAN LORI CHAVEZ-DEREMER FOR SECRETARY OF LABOR

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Association of Equipment Manufacturers Senior Vice President Kip Eideberg issued the following statement after President-elect Donald J. Trump nominated Congresswoman Lori Chavez-DeRemer (R-Ore.) to serve as the 30th Secretary of Labor.

"The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) applauds the selection of Congresswoman Lori Chavez-DeRemer for Secretary of Labor. Rep. Chavez-DeRemer has the depth of knowledge and experience necessary to lead the Department of Labor and support the 2.3 million men and women of the U.S. equipment manufacturing industry.

AEM has long supported policies that expand apprenticeships and work-based learning opportunities, roll back burdensome regulations, safeguard equipment manufacturers’ ability to innovate and invest, and provide economic opportunity and upward mobility for all Americans. We are eager to continue our work with Rep. Chavez-DeRemer to advance an agenda that supports job creation and drives economic growth in manufacturing communities across the country.

Leadership at the Department of Labor is critical to maintaining a strong and competitive equipment manufacturing industry, and we cannot think of a better person to lead at this pivotal moment for our nation.”
