AEF CONFERENCE DAY: YOUR GUIDE TO ISOBUS COMPATIBILITY
Helping ag industry professionals improve their knowledge of ISOBUS compatibility between tractors and implements is the goal of the AEF Conference Day May 10 from the Agricultural Industry Electronics Foundation (AEF).
This year’s AEF program is open to all, but will be of particular interest to manufacturer product marketing personnel with limited knowledge of AEF’s work to promote use of ISOBUS tools by manufacturers, dealers and customers.
The Conference Day agenda includes an AEF overview, project team updates, how to market ISOBUS products, and the latest information on (and demonstrations of) the ISOBUS product database and conformance testing and certification procedures. Presenters include AEF Chair Peter van der Vlugt and AEF General Manager Norbert Schlingmann.
Added bonus: Attendees can visit AEF’s annual U.S.-based Plugfest taking place at the same time, and see as manufacturers and suppliers test their products for compatibility with others across brands.
AEF Conference Day is the morning of May 10 (lunch included) and the AEF Plugfest runs May 9-11, both at the Embassy Suites in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Advancing efficient and productive use of electronics worldwide
AEF holds Plugfests twice a year, in the U.S. in May and in Europe in October.
Eleven AEF project teams, all composed of industry volunteers, tackle emerging ISOBUS issues in areas including wireless infield communications, high-speed ISOBUS, farm management information systems, camera systems, and high-voltage technology.
AEF has developed a conformance tool for manufacturers to test their components and systems for compliance with the international ISOBUS standard (ISO 11783). ISOBUS products certified by an AEF Test Laboratory can use the AEF Certified label and are listed in the AEF database.
Customers can access the database at no charge to check equipment compatibility before purchase; if issues arise, service technicians can access the database for troubleshooting assistance, even in the field.
“AEF is the ultimate example of manufacturers and related industry stakeholders working cooperatively for the benefit of customers,” said Mark Benishek, technical director for the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM). AEM is AEF staff secretary. For more information, visit http://www.aef-online.org/.
